Children & Vulnerable persons Policy

I WANT TO WORK WITH CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE PEOPLE

Thank you for your interest in working with children here at Cairns South Baptist Church. In order to provide adequate care, minimise risk and comply with government standards, we adhere to a ‘Children, Youth and Vulnerable Persons Safeguarding Policy.’

This ‘Safeguarding Policy’ outlines the requirements of ‘screening,’ ‘training’ and ‘reporting’. It requires that all volunteers and staff working with Children:

Once approved to work with children, staff and volunteers are required to:

  • Comply with the Code of Conduct;
  • Comply with the requirements of risk management plans in place for various activities and ministries.

Cairns South Baptist Church uses ‘Safe Ministry Check,’ in order to:

  • Maintain the Blue Card registry;
  • Maintain an incident report form registry;
  • Provide training;
  • Provide resources to minimise risk during activities.

Once you have been approved to work with children, you will receive login details to access this training and resources.

I WANT TO ACCOMPANY MY CHILD TO AN ACTIVITY

Parents can accompany activities with their children, but must sign on and acknowledge that they are not a restricted person (i.e., Someone restricted from obtaining a Blue Card)
